Filing and Fees
The base fees for filing a case in Bell County are as follows:

The District Clerk's Office allows instruments to be filed in four methods:
Litigents In Person: The Bell County District Clerk's Office is open from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Filings are accepted until 4:30pm.
If a filing fee is required (refer to breakdown of filing fees), the following methods of payment are accepted:Cash (the District Clerk's Office does not provide change, exact amounts are requested) Money Order Cashier's Check Credit Card (Master Card, Visa, American Express) A service charge applies
Via Mail: All filings should be mailed to: Joanna Staton Bell County District Clerk Attn: Civil Clerk P.O. Box 909 Belton, TX 76513. For filings that require payment of fees, do not send cash. Please refer to breakdown of filing fees for payment required. Filings that do not include the correct payment will be returned.

Via Fax Filing: The District Clerk's Office is pleased to provide fax filing. The Civil Department intake fax number for fax filing is 254-933-5292. The fax filing fee for incoming faxes is $5.00 for the first page and $1.00 per page after. In addition to the fax filing fees, you must also pay any filing fee associated with the document filed. Please note that fax filings will only be processed AFTER payment is received. Pursuant to Texas Government Codes 51.803 and 51.807, the District Clerk's Office is authorized to accept any document by fax that might be filed in a court action, except Returns of Service on Issuance, Bonds, and signed orders or judgments. Upon your request, the District Clerk's Office will make copies of documents at a cost of $1.00 per page. This will be helpful when a copy of a document is required for citation. The District Clerk's office does not accept credit card payments over the phone. You must make payment in person or mail in a cashier's check or money order payable to the Bell County District Clerk.
